Okay, I missed the registration deadline for the Chicago Marathon. Besides, I wouldn't be able to do it anyway as it falls on the same day as my sister's wedding in Vermont. I've been in Chicago for three weeks. So far so good. I found a great apartment the first few days I was here thanks to a local apartment-finding service.
